An iconic Grade II* listed building on the edge of Huddersfield town centre, which
is being converted into high-quality offices, has secured its first two tenants.
Huddersfield-based architects Above and Beyond are taking two floors in the historic
19th century Folly Hall Mills, which overlooks the River Colne. They are relocating
from the nearby Huddersfield Media Centre.
Meanwhile the Jay Tee Group, based in Dewsbury, who are developing the mill, are
taking one floor at Folly Hall Mills, meaning that 60 per cent of the smaller mill
is now let.
Above and Beyond are taking 4,700 sq ft of office space, while the Jay Tee Group
are taking 2,700 sq ft. Rents are in the region of £15 per sq ft. Both companies
will move into their new offices in November.
Andrew Stoddart, managing director of Above and Beyond, said: ‘We are delighted
to be moving into our new offices in November and recognise that being located in
a stunning converted building will create a powerful impression to clients about
how we can make a difference to their business.
“The 4,700 sq ft space will act as a showcase office, allowing us to adopt 21st
century ways of working including hot-desking, flat screen technology and a dedicated
‘creative space’, intended to promote free thinking.
“It’s an exciting way to launch into our second decade of business, demonstrating
our talent for understanding and delivering innovative design solutions to embed
and reinforce a strong workplace culture for both ourselves and our clients,” he
explained.
